2015 Prairie Burn
To stimulate new growth of native prairie grass, flowers and shrubs,
Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet - St. Paul Province hosted a prairie
burn on the east edge of its property, near the front entrance of
Carondelet Village on April 24, 2015.
Using drip torches to lay lines and make patterns, kept the burn controlled and slow, with no impact on walking trails. The company who administered the burn, Prairie Restoration
, was accompanied by two fire trucks including a 200-gallon high-pressure and a 300-gallon high-pressure tank.
Come July, the prairie area should look much different, with enhanced growth. For more information on the prairie burn, please contact Ginger K. Hedstrom at firstname.lastname@example.org
