The US Federation has committed to developing 10 actions duing the first 100 days of the new Presidential Administration. The actions that we take together will advocate for positions that are consistent with our corporate voice statements. Our first action was to send postcards about our support for immigrants to both the President and members of Congress.
Our second action will be to join with Network, the Lobby for Catholic Social Justice, which has taken a stance in support of the Bridge Act. This bipartisan legislation extends provisional status given to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients also commonly known as Dreamers, and those who qualify. Network has provide us an easy way to send a message to your members of Congress. Click here to read Network's stance and then click on read more to get to their electronic letter form. You then just fill in the requested information. Your congress person may request that you also provide additional information such as your title (Ms., Mr., Sister), the topic- which is immigration, the subject- Bridge Act, and do you want a response- say yes and let us know what you hear. I did it and it took less than 3 minutes to send 3 emails.
