Good nutrition is necessary for productive learning, and we strive to help students maintain a healthy diet. To support students who may be facing food insecurity, the CSJ Community has partnered with faculty and staff from across the University to run a food shelf for the St. Kate’s community. Much of the harvest grown by the CSJ Community Gardens is provided to the food shelf.
The food shelf is open on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 12 – 4 p.m. and is located in Carondelet Center on the CSJ campus (across from the O’Shaughnessy). Any student is welcome to create a bag of groceries that services their needs. The food shelf offer fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, and an assortment of other foods that provide a balanced diet.
Read the February 2020 St. Kate’s Food Shelf E-Newsletter – there are additional opportunities for those involved with the CSJ Community Gardens to volunteer with the food shelf.
