Spanish Interpreter – St. Mary’s Health Clinics


St. Mary’s Health Clinics is currently seeking a Spanish Interpreter.  The Interpreter would provide language services to non-English-speaking individuals to help them communicate with doctors, nurses and other staff in clinic and/or provide information and resource assistance at community wellness events.  The interpreter communicates with individuals in their native language for the purpose of sharing information between that patient, their family, staff and volunteer staff.  In some circumstances, SMHC Interpreters will be cross trained to provide admitting support to clinics and patients; those general responsibilities have been included in this job description.


  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Understanding of medical terminology and processes
  • Training or certification in medical interpreting preferred
  • At least one year of experience interpreting in a medical setting preferred
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel to sites throughout the Twin Cities area

Clinical Nurse Manager – St. Mary’s Health Clinics

40 hours per week

Mission and Ministry:

The mission of St. Mary’s Health Clinics, in the tradition of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, is to carry out the healing ministry of Christ by providing needed health services to the medically underserved or uninsured.

Position Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Manager will provide ongoing assessment, coordination, supervision and support managing the clinical operations and development of St. Mary’s Health Clinics and/or related medical programs. Actively coaching and engaging staff while modeling expected behaviors and holding staff accountable. Evaluating clinic performance to identify, implement and meet quality and safety outcomes. Manages processes to improve patient, employee and provider satisfaction. Manage the clinic budget to meet objectives. Identifies and evaluates barriers to clinic success, helps craft solutions and implements improvement plans. Works to maximize the flow of information between the clinics, the volunteer staff and central office. Assists leadership in achieving coordination, consistency and efficiency of clinics and/or related medical programs. Continuously focuses on reducing non-value added tasks to improve the overall efficiencies of the clinic operation and patient centered care.


  • Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the State of Minnesota
  • Minimum three years’ work experience in medical/surgical nursing – clinic or public health experience preferred.
  • Three-years’ experience in supervising professional and para-professional medical personnel is required
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team structure is required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills as evidenced in adaptability and a focus on strategic operations
  • Requires valid Minnesota driver’s license.
  • Demonstrates respect for diversity.
  • Awareness of psychosocial barriers that can impact lives of uninsured.
