On Sunday, May 1, 2022, the CSJ Community welcomed 12 new Consociates in a ritual that was both very familiar and very different. It was wonderful to welcome one another back to Our Lady of the Presentation Chapel in person for this ritual after two years of celebrating only on Zoom. But this year, we also experimented with hybrid technology that allowed people to participate in the ritual not only in person, but also over Zoom, over YouTube Livestream, and at Carondelet Village. This inclusive celebration was important because seven of the new Consociates live in Kenya! Although we encountered a few technological bumps, it was inspiring to hear from the community in Kenya in person.

Going back to early Consociate tradition, each of the new Consociates answered the following questions: What am I seeking? And, what do I bring? These were the same two questions offered to the first groups of Consociates making commitment some 30 years ago. Their reflections on these questions will be shared in the future.

Welcome to our newest Consociates: Irene Bellah Adhiambo, Leah Lieta, Samuel Lieta, Margo Dempsey, Jacklyne Mambe, Angela Dimler, Judith Leatherwood, Roseanne Akinyi Ochieng, Emmaculate Atieno Okuta, Pamela Wandzel, Rosie Romportl, and Margaret Wanda! Please keep these new Consociates in your prayers. Also, many thanks to all those who supported these Consociates through their candidacy, especially their companions, Mary Lieta, Lois Mineau, John Gries, Kit Breshears, Anne Hannahan, Carolyn Puccio, CSJ, Linda Crosby, Anita S. Duckor, Serphine Mambe, Irene O’Neill, CSJ, Michelle Moran, and Karleen Reller.
