On November 11, St. Kate’s senior Fidaules Hafize came to the St. Kate’s/CSJ Food Shelf to teach community gardeners how to make Ghanaian green chili sauce. Hafize is originally from Ghana, where they use both hot and sweet peppers in their traditional cuisine. “I love cooking,” said Hafize, “and I thought it was a great opportunity for me to share the knowledge I had on making the green chili sauce.” All the peppers used for the sauce were grown in the Celeste’s Dream Community Garden and the St. Kate’s Community Garden, and the extra jars of sauce were distributed in the food shelf. Thank you to Fidaules and our gardeners for sharing their enthusiasm and chopping skills with the community!
