During 2021 Lent, our Earth Partners Working Group and many in the CSJ Community and beyond joined together in prayer, reflection and action. Lent is a time to turn back to God, a time to re-awaken, a time to re-orient ourselves spiritually, a time to recommit ourselves more deeply – a time for conversion. In his 2015 Encyclical Laudato Si’, Pope Francis calls us to Care for Our Common Home. He urges us towards “ecological conversion” and writes that “Living our vocation to be protectors of God’s handiwork is essential…” (LS #217). We focused on ways to live more simply, to abstain from excessive consumption, to reduce our wastefulness, and to advocate for change. All of the weekly updates are below.
