Below are a few examples of the many, many ways that the work of our ministries continues (while observing the necessary safety protocols).

Sarah’s… an Oasis for Women: Sarah’s continues to be a home for its residents and the Director established a “call care list” to personally track the mental health and well-being of current residents, volunteers, and staff. The staff are finding lots of creative ways to support the community, such as this touching video.

Learning In Style School: Many students were sent home with independent learning packets and English teachers are staying in touch with their students during this time. The school also became a collection site for food and supplies for students.

St. Joseph Worker Program: At St. Anne’s Place, SJW Katie has increased her work hours to ease the stress of higher-risk staff, to assist with distance learning, and to roll out new socially distant family programming.

St. Mary’s Health Clinics: SMHC has three clinic sessions each week, focusing on medication management and medication refills. As obtaining insulin is a challenge, SMHC has begun to provide financial support for insulin purchases.

Wisdom Ways Center for Spirituality: Wisdom Ways is sharing a wonderful collection of poems, reflections, resources, quotes, videos and coloring pages twice weekly through their enews (see some examples of the offerings).

CSJ Justice Commission: The working groups continue to find ways to raise their collective voices for our most vulnerable dear neighbors throughout this COVID-19 pandemic.  Learn more about current actions you can take at the end of the MN State Legislative Session on the Take Action page.

Celeste’s Dream/CSJ Community Garden: The St. Kate’s Food Shelf, a collaboration between Celeste’s Dream and St. Kate’s, served 150 students in April while employing COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Seasonal produce from the community garden enhances food shelf options.
